Plan Today,
Empower Tomorrow

Learn how to use your 529 Plan to make education more affordable for your family — and how Kable Academy can help you make the most of it.

WHY USE KABLE FOR YOUR 529 PLAN?

A 529 plan is a tax-advantaged savings plan designed to help families save for education. Contributions grow tax-deferred, and withdrawals for qualified education expenses are tax-free.

Eligible Education Expenses

Kable Academy programs qualify for 529 plan funds as “qualified postsecondary education programs.” That means students can pay for approved training, fees, and supplies — extending their savings’ direct value toward tuition.

Possible Tax Advantages

When 529 funds are used for qualified education expenses like Kable tuition, families may enjoy federal tax savings and, in some states, additional deductions on their individual situation.

Investment in Credentials

Graduates can earn in-demand and state-recognized certifications (like MO-410, CompTIA ITF+, A+, Network+, Security+). These credentials give Kable graduates a direct investment translated into career opportunities.

Options for Learning Flexibility

Enroll in part-time (52 weeks) or part-time (24 weeks) programs — delivered live online or in-person at Kable Academy’s Blue Ash campus.

Career-Ready Outcomes

We embed career readiness and 92% job placement success rate for Kable graduates, using a 529 plan at Kable Academy helps bridge savings to real job outcomes in IT.

Award-Winning Program

Kable Academy is one of the most accredited technical bootcamps in the Midwest, known for its exceptional training and high student success rates.

Note: Using 529 funds for non-qualified expenses may result in taxes and penalties on earnings.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Yes! Kable Academy’s programs qualify for 529 funds because of the newly signed act, “One, Big, Beautiful Bill.” Families can apply their savings directly toward tuition and career training costs.

If your student doesn’t use all of their 529 funds, the remaining balance can typically be transferred to another eligible family member or rolled over to a Roth IRA (subject to contribution limits and IRS guidelines). Always check your specific plan’s terms before making changes.

On July 4, 2025, additional programs outside of Title IV schools also qualify. These must generally be listed in the WIOA Eligible Training Provider List or the WEAMS database. You can find our school in both by searching for “Kable Academy” in their search bars.

The “One Big, Beautiful Bill Act” expanded what counts as a qualified 529 expense, allowing families to use their savings for approved career training and technical education programs — not just traditional college tuition.

Yes. Grandparents, relatives, or friends can contribute to a 529 plan at any time. Contributions grow tax-deferred, and withdrawals for qualified education expenses are tax-free — making it a smart way for families to invest together in a student’s future, but consult your plan provider or a qualified advisor on how best to proceed.

Typically, 529 plans owned by a parent have a minimal effect on financial aid eligibility. The funds are considered a parental asset, which has a smaller impact on the FAFSA than student-owned assets.
